Notes on the project
Valley Portraits is an independent, ongoing photography project centred on portraiture. I photograph friends, strangers and familiar places.
I'm not a commercial photographer. Some of it happens in a studio, more of it happens in rooms, at bar tables, and on staircases, wherever the light and a willing face meet.
I'm interested less in polished performance than in presence: the expression after the smile, the pause before conversation, and whatever's left of a place once the obvious postcard shot has been taken.
The project is based in the Thames Valley, England, with occasional work made further afield. If you'd like to take part in a portrait sitting, collaborate informally, or just talk about the work, visit the contact page.
